The Newborn Session $175

 

First off, I have to tell you that I am SO excited you are interested in having a newborn session. Please trust me when I say, you will not regret documenting this time of your baby’s life.

 

Between 4 and 12 days after birth, your 2-3 hour newborn session will take place, either at your home, my home studio, or the home of a close friend or family member of yours. Following the session, I will process my selection images and place them on a disc for you to have printed at your choice of Photo shop. I have recomendations if needed!

 

The optimum time frame for when to hold your newborn session is between 4 and 12 days after birth. This gives your baby time to get comfy with his new environment, to get past the peak point for jaundice (and before the peak point of infant acne), and to fall into a bit of a routine with eating and sleeping. And, keeps him within the period of deep sleep reserved only for the newest of newborns, and preferred mold-ability. After 12 days, your baby will become a bit more alert, making posing a bit more of a challenge, and the squishy, cuddled-up-into-a-ball positions difficult to obtain. Plus, we get them at their tiniest and ‘newest’.

 

However, I wouldn’t turn away the opportunity to photograph your precious bundle while they are still a ‘newborn’. Anytime until 6-weeks falls within this time period and after that, I suggest waiting until 3 months for your baby’s portrait or lifestyle photography session.

 

I genuinely encourage you to schedule your newborn’s session before you’ve had your baby. I don’t want the anxiety of booking your session to be on your shoulders after your baby has arrived. We will connect before hand (hopefully for a maternity session!) and I will reserve your session according to your due date. When the baby is born, you can give me a call and we’ll schedule your appointment from there.

         Your session can take place at your home, at my home, or at a home of a close friend or family member. Each location has its benefits.

• At your home, you are able to be bit bit more relaxed. No need to pack everything up and venture out. I’ll come to you with everything I’ll need. We can set up in any room that has good natural light and I can capture a more ture life moments around your home, along with posed baby photos.
• At my home studio, I know the optimum places for natural lighting and can utilize them. I will have my set-up ready which will allow us to ease right into the session and you will have access to my on growing collection of props. I have a comfortable family room where parents can sit back relax and provide snacks and drinks. T.V, movies magazines and more. Siblings are welcomed as long as they are well watched and easily entertained

I will bring EVERYTHING I need for the session to happen. However, if you would like to incorporate a special item, such as a hat or blanket, please let me know! This session is, after-all about your baby and the more personalized it is, the better.
Also, you are encouraged to take part in your newborn’s session and siblings are welcome to be included as well!
